Vapor 2X Leg Pads offer better durability and resistance to wear and tear than seen in previous years. The calf and knee plates feature C.O.R.TECH ST, a material that helps provide a much more controlled slide in all ice conditions while increasing that durability. On the inner calf pieces, Bauer extended the abrasion zones to reduce wear and tear for a longer lasting leg pad. The rest of the interior features honeycomb ripstop polyester, another highly durable material.
The leg channel boasts AX Suede Quattro, an extremely soft yet comfortable material that increases comfort and performance when dropping into the butterfly and sliding post to post. The knee stack stays locked together for a solid connection with Bauer's STABILSLIDE hook and loop connection. 45° cut-outs on the knee stacks help to increase performance in the butterfly position by preventing the knee stacks from rubbing each other. The knee stack strapping system is length adjustable and can be connected across the back of the knee or down on the outer calf piece.
Down low, the calf wrap features AeroLite Foam, a lightweight yet protective material that helps to reduce weight and prevents moisture from absorbing into the equipment. Bauer continued to use the Tune Fit Strapping System for quick dressing times and easy adjustments. The Y-shaped inner calf strap has length adjustability and large loop landing for vertical adjustability. This extensive strapping system reduces weight and helps keep the leg secure while maintaining optimal roll for butterfly transitions.
Beneath the Free Flex Boot is a Monster H.A.L toe tie system that allows the foot to get much closer to the ice. Utilizing a bungee and Velcro attachment system, the offset toe tie allows goalies to get a better flex and seal to the ice. Helping boost the Monster H.A.L toe tie system are the calf wrap break points at the boot. Bauer added elastic connection points between the boot and calf wraps that do a wonderful job of alleviating pressure against the joints and increasing flex once again.
